Covid 19

Dear parishioners,

Can We Call You and Chat for a Bit?

Being home and lonely or sick is never a good thing, especially during a crisis. Several of our caring parishioners belong to a “friendly visitor” ministry here at St. Brendan’s. They call and visit fellow parishioners to see how they’re doing, lift their spirits and even pray together. They can assist in getting help when needed.

The Coronavirus has forced the visitors to do so by telephone only, for a while. So, if you would like somebody to give you a call now and then, the group has several good folks who would love to pick up the phone. They love to talk, so you would be doing them a favor if you would share some time with them on the telephone!

All you need to do is call Rita Canfield on 910-287-6649 to receive calls. Also contact her if you want to be a friendly visitor. There are no meetings or reports or organizational red tape – just friendly calls.

The following is a copy of a paragraph from the letter from Fr. Mark to all parishioners**

II. Corporal (“When did we see you ill and visit you?” – Mt 25:39)

The Knights of Columbus of our parish have identified two potential priority needs for those who may have to stay quarantined at home: Food and Medicine. Parishioners who need assistance with pickup and delivery of these items during this emergency period may use the email stbrendan271@gmail.com or call 800-852-9481 to make known their needs. Please leave your name, address and phone number as well. Items will be delivered to your front door to avoid personal contact. I thank the K of C for providing this wonderful service!

** If you do not receive the letter in the next day or so, click here and enter your name, email, and your current address in the message box.
