A FREE telephone reassurance service designed to enhance the quality of life for older adults, or adults with disabilities, who live alone or who are at risk of sudden illness, falls, accidents, and/or social isolation. Through the service, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office places a daily call to each person enrolled at a specified time. If no response is received, a Deputy is dispatched to the residence to ensure the person’s safety.
Offers a variety of services and education for children and adults. Most major insurance plans are accepted and an income-based sliding scale is offered for uninsured individuals.
Office administers various programs including; Medicaid, food and nutrition, work first, child support, and adult and child protective services.
Assists seniors with maintaining an independent lifestyle. They offer services for food and nutrition, family respite care, transportation, and accessibility options for your home. Center locations in Leland, Southport, Oak Island, Supply, Shallotte, and Calabash.
Community transportation system for residents of Brunswick County for non-emergency transportation. BTS also has services to New Hanover County on Tuesdays and Thursdays. One way fares range from $1.50, $3.00 and $5.00 depending on distance traveled. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm. Call to schedule transportation between 8:00 am – 2:30 pm, at least 48 hours in advance.
Coastline Women’s Center educates supports and empowers women facing unplanned pregnancies with compassionate and professional medical care.
Offers medical, dental, and behavioral health services to both insured and uninsured patients. Their bilingual staff is ready to assist with questions regarding your health care needs and offer varied hours of operation including evening hours.
The hotline is a pilot program and is a coordinated effort across the Tri-county area. It will operate Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 10am to 4pm – the last assessment is at 3:30. We are taking appointments and call-ins. Individuals can call the hotline 910-444-8315 for the assessment to be placed on the community prioritization list. If there is no answer, please leave a voicemail or text their call back information and we will assist them.

Provides services to clients aged 21 and above. Clients are screened and approved.
Clients age 60 and above – Volunteers provide transportation to medical appointments or
grocery stores, make wellness calls, and delivery food pantry items to clients’ homes.
Clients age 21-59 – Volunteers provide transportation to medical appointments.

FREE service for Brunswick County residents who are caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease, autism or other conditions that make them likely to wander away from caregivers, or who have difficulties communicating with rescuers. Project Lifesaver bracelets can help rescuers find a loved one who has wandered away.
SHIP counsels Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers about Medicare. Counselors offer unbiased information to help you navigate the Medicare system.
The below provider services offer 24-hour phone access to a nurse who can answer questions, concerns and give you advice, schedule appointments, and offer you referrals.
